LoMásTv
LoMásTv is a self-described 'online Spanish video magazine' for people who wish to improve their Spanish skills with authentic Spanish television, music videos and more.
If you're reading this, I assume you may be considering the idea of subscribing to this online service, so this review will try to help you decide if LoMásTv is right for you.
LoMásTv is a subscription-based online service that immerses you in Spanish-language content: engaging video material that you can watch through your Web browser. The videos all come from actual Spanish-language television programs: drama, music videos, interviews, documentaries, travel shows, etc.
'Yeah, so what?!' you're saying. 'I can find free Spanish-language videos anywhere online, especially on YouTube!' Yes, this is true, so let me immediately point out the huge primary advantage of this service: the ability to leverage each video specifically for the use of learning Spanish. For all the videos, you can display (accurate) Spanish and English captions, and more importantly you can slow down the video playback while retaining pitch-correct pronunciation. I know from my own experience of learning languages how useful it can be to slow the target language down! The videos also include special listening exercises to supplement and reinforce what you've learned.
LoMásTv is therefore an absolutely fantastic resource for students of Spanish, because it helps you to focus on and develop that most difficult but important of language skills: LISTENING (comprehension). What distinguishes this service further is the fact that each exercise is comprised of interesting material (especially the interviews) that simultaneously exposes you to the world of contemporary Spanish-speaking culture.
What I also like about this service is that it includes an integrated dictionary that allows you to click on virtually any word in the display window to receive a translation. So you get integrated vocabulary training too, which is very cool.
With over 300 videos (and growing!) to choose from, I highly recommend this service for students of Spanish at any level. When you go to the LoMásTv website, you can sign up for free Spanish lessons by email as well as view a Demo of the full service.

It is important that students bring a certain ragamuffin, barefoot irreverence to their studies; they are not to worship what is known, but to question it.
This service is really cool!
Probably one of the best ways I've found to practise my spanish listening skills.
